The MSM Double Standard on High Gas Prices for Obama …

Obama vs. Bush on gas prices and oil exploration from the Heritage Foundation. Do not for one second believe that Barack Obama does not have an energy policy, he does. Obama's agenda is working exactly as he and his …
The vast majority of Americans are getting more and more irritated by record-high fuel prices that have soared above $4 a gallon in some states and could top $5 by summer, and the cost is fast becoming a political football just as the presidential campaign kicks into high gear.
Some blame President Barack Obama, some cite the government while others believe it’s the work of big, greedy oil companies.
No matter who is responsible, almost everyone seems to want the government to do something, even if people aren’t sure what, exactly, it should or can do.
A Gallup poll this month found 85% of U.S. adults believe the president and Congress should take immediate actions to try to control the rising price of gas.
AP Publishes A Foolish Highly Biased Article
AP which is anti-Semitic and politically far-left just released an article penned by John Rogers entitled, "Who is to blame for high gas prices?".
Nobody In The Article Blames the President.
The first person quoted is is Chris Kaufman.
Chris Kaufman, who spends $120 a week on gas to travel the sixty miles between his two jobs, at the University of South Dakota in Sioux Falls and at a hotel in Vermillion, S.D., blames the price spike on threats from Iran to cut off oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.
"I think the candidates running for president need to take a good hard look at that and determine what their foreign policy is going to be for countries that threaten to do that. It’s going to affect every single citizen in the United States".
Still, he believes the president has little control over gas prices, adding that,
"It’s the commodities traders who really dictate prices".
The next person up at bat is Trucker Cory Nissen of Ruther Glen, Va. who said as he took a break from his rig at a stop in Wilton, N.Y.
"The president is nothing but a fall guy".
Less Sylla, is a cab driver who paid $4.17 a gallon earlier this week says..
"When the gas is up, the money you make is going down. You see a lot of drivers, they’re driving, boom-boom-boom, because the lease is too high and it’s working on their minds. So that’s why they go like that, and it causes a lot of accidents".
Sylla, who said he will vote for Obama, blames greedy oil companies.
Milton Walker Jr., whose Louisiana tour company takes vacationers on boat rides through the alligator-infested swamps, said he raised prices last year because of the increased cost of fuel and will do it again if gas hits $5 a gallon. He blames the Federal Reserve, saying it hasn’t kept inflation in check.
"I don’t think it matters who’s president".
The AP article is actually highly embarrassing because there are of course several things that Obama could have done and be doing to bring down gas prices.
The KeyStone XL Project
Canadian tar sands, it turns out, hold 100 billion barrels of obtainable oil, and stretching a pipeline from Canada to Texas refineries would be no big deal in a country that already has two million miles of pipeline.
The Keystone pipeline would create thousands of jobs and experts note that a pipeline is far cheaper and safer than other modes of transportation, especially compared to shipping it across the ocean.
Obama knows that people are concerned about the steadily rising price of gasoline. He knows that building Keystone would create thousands of jobs. He knows that drilling for oil and gas in this country will create thousands more jobs. And he knows that there are people, including Secretary of Energy Steven Chu, who think the price of gas is not high enough and others who believe we must rapidly substitute green energy for fossil fuels.
But not to worry, says the president.
“We don’t have to choose between energy and environment, we can do both",
which is nothing more than a transparent effort to be all things to all people.
The Oklahoma Lie
Obama recently announced in Oklahoma that the southern section of the pipeline is now an "administration priority" but he didn’t mention that the builders of the Keystone pipeline had already announced that they planned to proceed with the southern portion.
They already have all of the permits they need and the financing to build it, and there is nothing the president could do to stop it even if he wanted to.
How Many Jobs?
Conservative estimates had the Keystone Pipeline Project creating over 100,000 desperately needed jobs in one of the worst economies in US history and GOP members of Congress are up in arms over the administration’s position.
U.S. Congressman Kevin Brady (R-Texas), the top Republican on the Joint Economic Committee and a senior member of the House Ways & Means Committee, was quick to issue the following response to the Obama Administration’s decision to reject Canada’s Keystone XL pipeline permit.
“From an economic standpoint and America’s energy security, this decision makes no sense. The Obama economy continues to struggle and millions of Americans continue to look for work. Why is he turning down jobs in energy, reliably produced in our backyard?”.
“For three years, the administration has dithered, as this project has been studied to death and every opposition to it answered to the satisfaction of experts. This is at best, a short-sighted decision, and at worst the kind of crass political pandering that turns so many people off on politics and virtually everything that comes out of Washington".
“American workers, who have packed public meetings in southeast Texas looking for a opportunity to work, have also been waiting too long to get this back of the hand from their president. Make no mistake, Mr. President, Americans know how our economy works and they understand the link between oil production, economic independence, national security and jobs better than the bureaucrats lecturing them from Washington".

Modiin Energy and Adira Energy Corporation just announced an oil and natural gas discovery at their offshore Gabriella and Yitzhak Licenses, which are situated just 24 km northwest of Tel Aviv.
According to Adira, Gabriella and Yitzhak have a best estimate of 232.2 million barrels of oil, including 110.1 million barrels of contingent oil.
Together, the Gabriella and Yitzhak licenses have a best estimate of 1.8 trillion cubic feet of natural gas with drilling set to begin at end of year.
Shallow Water
The discoveries were made in the Jurassic strata, located in shallow water 24 kilometers northwest of Tel Aviv and estimates are based on a 3D seismic survey by Netherland Sewell & Associates Ltd. (NSAI).
In its notice to the TASE, Modiin says the best estimate for Gabriella is 128.4 million barrels of oil.
Adira, a Canadian company, owns 30% of the Gabriella license and 85% of the Yitzhak license.
Modiin, controlled by Tzahi Sultan and Nochi Dankner through IDB Holding Corp. Ltd., owns 70% of Gabriella.
Gavrieli said that the discovery is,
"Significant! Surveys conducted in recent months found oil in the target strata. The potential oil reservoir is 128 million barrels of oil, and the contingent reserves are an additional 120 million barrels".
"The Gabriella license in near shore in shallow water. At a time of soaring oil prices, this is good news for IDB, Modiin, Adira, and for the Israeli economy, which is trying to diversify its energy sources".
He later hinted that it will be easier to produce oil than natural gas from Gabriella.
"Modiin today became a leading player in Israel’s energy market. This is good news; we found high quality oil inshore, which can be extracted. A previous well there produced 500 barrels of oil a day. In other words, we have an oil target in commercial quantities that can meet Israel’s energy needs for 18 months".
The natural gas discovery is a fifth the size of the 9 trillion cubic foot deep water Tamar discovery, owned by Delek Group Ltd. (TASE: DLEKG), Noble Energy Inc., and Isramco Ltd. .
Sultan said,
"Bottom line, there is oil. It’s 100%. Secondly, the quantities are commercial".
Asked by Globes about the timing and costs of a well, Sultan replied,
"Drilling at Gabriella should begin by the end of the year. We’re now working on the budget, and when we have a figure, we’ll notify the TASE. I believe that, during 2013, we’ll have more figures about the production rates, and a precise figure on the size of the reservoir. As for actual oil production, it will be about five years to the first well".
Adira CEO Jeffrey Walter said,
"There’s a best estimate of 79 million barrels of oil at the Yitzhak license and an additional 25.6 million barrels of contingent oil, as well as one trillion cubic feet of natural gas. I said that I came to find oil and gas and was laughed at. I was told that there is no oil here. They were wrong".
Walter said that the latest technologies have been used to discover oil and gas in the Eastern Mediterranean following the discoveries in Syria and Egypt.
Describing the Syrian-Egyptian arc, which passes through Israel, he said,
"We’re now connecting the dots".
Israel’s Shale Oil
What is perhaps less well-known, but is perhaps of equal or more imoportance, is that a new assessment that was released late last year by Dr. Yuval Bartov, who is the chief geologist for Israel Energy Initiatives, at the yearly symposium of the prestigious Colorado School of Mines suggests that Israel’s oil shale reserves are the equivalent of 250 billion barrels which can be put into perspective by comparing it to Saudi Arabia’s proven reserves of 260 billion barrels.
