Of course we can afford the current debt, and we probably could handle another $10 trillion, but who wants to go deeper in debt when we have so much to do to revive the economy and to put people back to work?
Ready To Be Shocked?!
DID YOU KNOW?
Did you know that the US Federal Government spent $413 billion on INTEREST PAYMENTS just last year?!
Since 1988 the US congress has spent 8 trillion in interest payments alone!
According to the non-partisan CBO (Congressional Budget Office) by the year 2021 interest payments will reach 1.1 trillion dollars a year!
By the year 2046 every single dime of Federal Income Tax revenue will be spent on interest!
If congress stopped ALL spending today and made payments of one hundred million dollars a day, it would take 389 years just to pay off the debt!
When politicians talk about reducing the deficit they are not talking about reducing the DEBT!
What can you do about it.

Pistol-packing Texas Gov. Rick Perry who boasts imposing job-creation credentials, powerhouse fund-raising clout and instant appeal to the GOP’s conservative base now looms large as front-runner Mitt Romney’s worst nightmare, and Obama’s too.
Mitt Romney Will Need A New Game Plan
Dwayne Horner, a Dallas-based Republican consultant who served on Perry’s 2010 gubernatorial re-election campaign says:
"Romney needs to understand that the game has changed. His whole campaign is on notice after this announcement. He now has someone running against him who can beat him. Romney’s going against someone who’s created jobs, who embraced the Tea Party early on, and who has a record unmatched in Texas history".
And political observers are warning:
"Perry’s an evangelical Christian who carries a Ruger .380-caliber handgun, knows how to run a bare-knuckle campaign and he takes no prisoners".
Leonard Steinhorn, a political professor at American University pointed out that:
"Perry filleted his opponent during his 2010 gubernatorial campaign. Romney can’t just coast and act like President Obama is his only opponent anymore. Rick Perry is going to go after him, and he better be ready".
Live Free Or Die
Perry hit the early primary states of South Carolina and New Hampshire yesterday, touting his 11-year record as governor, adding that 40% of the nation’s new jobs since June 2009 have been created in Texas.
“I feel right at home amongst people whose motto is ‘Live free or die’, and I intend to compete for every vote in every state. This isn’t a strategy just to go work in a few places. We’re going to go all across the country".
Perry is expected to garner the most support in socially conservative states like South Carolina and Iowa, but his job-creation story is already catching the attention of Granite State voters.
“We have too many people who are out of work. We need someone who has a track record of creating jobs",
said N.H. state Rep. Jon Richardson (R-Allenstown), who is still deciding between Perry and Romney.
“He has to go from zero to 60 miles per hour overnight, which will be tough. Romney’s experience having been around this track once before and years of planning and organizing are a big advantage",
said Republican consultant Mark McKinnon.
