Americans will never be free from Oil dependency, where have all the electric cars gone? (Big Brother has been busy). 1996 was the first production of electric cars, the EV1 (Electric Vehicle 1), produced by General Motors in …
New pumps at gas stations have slowly started to appear, and there will hopefully soon be a lot more of them because they don’t pump gasoline, but hydrogen.
The pump looks just like a gas pump except that the Shell one has blue writing instead of Shell’s familiar red and yellow logo.
I personally believe it’s really exciting that Chevrolet, Honda, Chrysler and most other car manufacturers believe that by 2015, that their car production could be sufficiently ramped-up to make Hydrogen viable as a real fuel alternative.
Can you imagine how nice it will feel not to be bent over an Arab oil barrel !?
Shad Balch, who is the Advanced Technology Product Spokesman for General Motors said, “Right now, we’ve put more than 100 fuel cell Chevy vehicles on the road to demonstrate that the technology is real, that it’s not a science project, that we can use this sort of application hopefully that will spur the investment into the infrastructure”.
Acura Public Relations Spokesperson Jessica Fini says that companies are already in the product demonstration phase and that vehicles are already being leased by everyday American’s who want to help do what they can to end the oil dependency.
You fill the car with hydrogen just like you would with gas and after about five minutes you’re ready to go about 250 miles, and your vehicle won’t be emitting anything except water vapor!
Is there a downside?
Well the new vehicles won’t cost much below $50,000 in 2015, but the hydrogen will be much cheaper than gasoline, and of course the car prices will come down too once they’re on the main assembly lines.
Interest in alternative energy sources peaked a couple of years ago when gas prices peaked and the enthusiasm waned as the prices fell but the latest BP oil spill has once again renewed the public’s interest in alternative fuels.
The changes to global politics will be enormous once the west is weaned off oil, and Russia and some other countries are apparently already looking into how they will survive financially when their main source of income has disappeared.

Jihadi Flotilla: Another Reuter's Photoshop? … (This was broken by blogger Charles Johnson of littlegreenfootballs.com, the same guy that exposed Reuters photoshopping of photos from the war with Lebanon in 2006.) …
Remember this scandal back in 08.06.06 ?
“Reuters withdraws photograph of Beirut after Air Force attack after US blogs, photographers point out ‘blatant evidence of manipulation”.
Reuters’ head of PR says in response, “Reuters has suspended photographer until investigations are completed into changes made to photograph”.
“Photographer who sent altered image is same Reuters photographer behind many of images from Qana, which have also been subject of suspicions for being staged”.
Well Reuters has been caught literally red-handed again and this time it’s pictures of what happened after Israeli soldiers boarded the Gaza bound Mavi Marmara, and the ensuing violence on board.

You’ll notice the knife held by a member of IHH which is the Islamist group whose members attacked the Israel soldiers. It’s in the bottom hand on the right hand side.

There was a huge ongoing controversy as to whether passengers on the boat were armed so the knife was obviously extremely important.
So important apparently, that Reuters removed it!

And just too make things worse, in this next picture which has been lightened a lot we show that when Reuters removed the knife they also accidentally removed the image of a second wounded Israel soldier.

Here’s what Reuters has had to say so far.
“The images in question were made available in Istanbul, and following normal editorial practice were prepared for dissemination which included cropping at the edges. When we realized that a dagger was inadvertently cropped from the images, Reuters immediately moved the original set, as well”.
It was obviously all 100% intentional and no amount of wriggling by Reuters will change the fact that what they did is totally unforgivable!
This expose is not about whether Gaza should or should not be blockaded, or whether Israeli soldiers should or should not have boarded the boat.
Reuters need to hold an immediate and ongoing investigation; people need to be fired; and a clear and precise public explanation needs to be made as to how and why this happened.
That a such a major news agency as Reuters manipulated both photos and the truth for a second time should be major news but it won’t be if you don’t get this information out there in a big way.
So if you care about truth in the media, then start informing friends, blogs and newspapers immediately.
And if you have both time and inclination and want to increase pressure, then why not contact Reuters directly, and let them know how you feel!
