In fact, when it comes to jobs, Obama's policies are so bad that even his union pals are starting to notice. The latest to take notice is the Communications Workers of America union. It reported last month that AT&T's $39 billion …

One of Obama's core claims is that the policies of the past, coming from largely Republican administrations espousing and carrying out conservative ideas, are what brought the economy to the brink, and that those ideas and …

There’s a very old joke in advertising circles that goes like this:

A big firm gets an account to launch a new brand of dog food and it’s an all-hands-on-deck operation.

People working flat-out on logos, slogans, music, endorsements, product placement, and ads suited to every medium.

Launch day comes, and everything goes perfectly, but after a couple of weeks, sales are wretched and it becomes clear that the campaign is tanking.

The whole staff of the adverizing agency gathers in a big conference room for a gloomy post-mortem and each element of the launch is second-guessed, and recriminations fly.

Finally, a junior writer in a seat against the wall timidly raises his hand and puts forth his opinion:

“Maybe the dogs didn’t like it?”

Obama’s Policies? Maybe The Citizens Don’t Like Them?

Leading Democrats and pundits are forlorn and dismayed that the president and congress haven’t gotten credit for what they consider to be an impressive record of accomplishment.

Rescuing the banking system and the U.S. auto industry, passing the stimulus, health care, financial and regulatory reform.

But the dogs, I mean "citizens" just didn’t like them.

In a survey released last week, Gallup found that of five major pieces of legislation, only the financial regulatory reform enjoys majority support.

What’s Clear Is That:

The failure of the stimulus to produce jobs cast a pall over everything else, and the majority of the public regards the year spent debating health reform as a diversion from what it thinks should have been a sustained focus on the economy and IMHO they’re right!

The Bottom Line For The Dems

The Dems can neither run on their record nor run away from it and their only hope is to convince the American people that giving power to an opposition party in its angriest and least moderate mood would only make things worse.

And when you can only run on a platform of, "THEY will only make things worse".

Then surely you’re in very big trouble?

ObamaCare finally scraped through and seems too have given Obama a little boost back home, but his overseas agenda is looking worse and worse.

Before going into the blunders it needs to be said that although the Obama administration did achieve a missile treaty with Russia, it was far more profitable for Russia than for the U.S. because Russia needed to reduce the costs of its nuclear arsenal, and the arms talks with the U.S. gave it some wanted prestige.

So Who Has Obama Upset So Far?

 Canada

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton publicly criticized the Canadians for failing to invite all eight members of the Arctic Council to a recent consultation and the following day, the Canadian Foreign announced that Canada will be ending its Afghan mission next year.

Just one day after the above was written, Clinton again publicly attacked Canada.

This time critiquing it’s approach to abortion.

 Israel

Obama behaved as badly as is possible by telling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he was going to have dinner and hoped that Netanyahu would have come up with some better ideas by the time he returned.

 The E.U.

The administration recently angered the EU by refusing to attend a summit in Madrid and the EU powers are no longer leaping to Washington’s support on Afghanistan.

 Britain

The administration angered Britain by seeming to side with Argentina over negotiations about the Falklands Islands and a British parliamentary committee has just pronounced the US-UK special relationship as over.

 Afghanistan

Afghanistan’s President Karzai was angered because his visit was cancelled.

 Brazil

Obama upset the Brazilians by rushing over to Copenhagen to try and snatch the 2016 Olympics from Rio and Brazil’s President Lula da Silva has now publicly rejected Secretary Clinton’s public request for support for a sanctions resolution at the U.N.

 Turkey

Obama Is Perceived As Weak And Naïve

North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela and Iran have totally rejected the administrations overtures and the administration’s actions have simply given the world the impression that the administration is weak.

It’s possible that the reason that Israel is being given such a hard time right now, is not so much because of its insistence on building homes in east Jerusalem, but because the U.S. needs to gain some badly needed credibility.

For at least five years, I have told people that capitalism would soon collapse but was nearly always mockingly asked, “and what will replace it?’, to which I had and still have no real answer.

I did, and do know however that you can’t base an economy on debt and expect it to last and that is exactly what the U.S. economy is based on.

Just today I read that California is 42 billion dollars in debt and yes you read that right, billion and not million.

Many people find Barak Obama charismatic which I personally don’t but I do believe that he is very smart.

But is he smart enough to save capitalism?

In January, Obama will gain the authority to run the government of the United States of America, but its presidents cannot simply remain charismatic symbols but must also tackle its problems and America and the world have many of them right now.

When Obama began his journey to the presidency, the war in Iraq was first and foremost in a great many people’s minds but that is no longer the case and he will be judged by how he handles the world’s economic crisis.
The U.S. is still by far the biggest driving force behind the world’s economy so Obama’s first task will be to restore confidence to Americans who are deeply pessimistic about their near future!

People are not borrowing and most financial institutions aren’t lending and if that doesn’t change then the economy is doomed as perhaps it was from its inception?!

Simply exuding confidence will not be enough regardless of how much charisma you have and Obama may be forced to reform the system itself.

In recent months the U.S. government has taken on a huge number of obligations in the private sector …

Ownership in banks.

Guarantees of commercial debts.

And loans to the automobile industry.

Sadly and perhaps most seriously no exit strategy exists and the Obama administration will have to find one because that is exactly what it will be judged on!

Just last week Obama promised to spend hundreds of billions of taxpayers’ dollars to prop up the sinking U.S. economy and Gordon Brown’s British government announced that it would take from the “rich” in order to finance an economic rescue.

The Bush administration has all but nationalized the world’s largest bank, the Citigroup and it has also thrown in an additional $800bn to attempt to thaw America’s starving credit markets.

The banks meanwhile are pretending that they are still answerable to their shareholders whereas they are in fact only surviving with very explicit financial guarantees from their governments.

In spite of extreme attempts at resuscitation the markets continue to lack confidence however and if nothing changes soon then capitalist countries will have little choice but to assume even more direct control and even possibly take direct ownership of their banks.
In the U.S. and Britain, the centre-left understood more than a decade ago that if it wanted to win elections that it would have to accept Reagan-Thatcher economics and Bill Clinton promised the end of big government.

The bottom line is however that main street America did not vote to throw out the capitalist baby with the bathwater and the leading members of Mr. Obama’s new economic team are amongst the most enthusiastic believers in liberal markets.

Financial boundaries have moved and although downswings always created a backlash they were more often than not forgiven because of the following upswing, but this time the bust was so much more severe that the effect of the crash will be felt long after the actual recovery occurs meaning that ‘forgiveness’ will be much later in coming.

The public no longer trusts the market and it’s not clear whether president elect Obama and other leaders will be able to right the wrongs at any time soon, but what is certain is that financial thinking and the world’s markets will never be the same again.

Following Obama’s election to the presidency so much has been written about “equality” and “America having finally come of age” etc. but few have questioned if it’s true or even thought to ask what will happen if he fails.

Would Obama have won if the Republicans had been able to put up a more viable candidate.

The answer is probably ‘no’.

Huge numbers of Republicans failed to vote and many that might have voted Republican didn’t vote because of McCain’s age and other factors.

If you question the above then just consider how popular Palin’s rallies were even though her beliefs and stances offended so many.

After her nomination she not only attracted bigger crowds than McCain but often bigger ones than Obama a well.

Just over three years ago Condoleezza Rice was seriously considered in many circles as a possible candidate for the Presidency and we heard similar comments to those that we’re hearing now about Afro-Americans.

But judged by any yardstick, Rice was a disaster.

Whereas I wish Obama well he has little likelihood of success and every chance of failure because the odds are heavily stacked against him.

Even if he does everything ‘right’, Americans will not be feeling any relief from the economic crisis even two years from now and they will have watched people losing their houses and jobs for those two long years.

The result of this prognosis should be plain.

The Democrats would be cast out and Obama would in all likelihood follow them and finish his first term in ignominy.

The question that then begs and answer is, “How long would it then take before America saw another Afro-American Secretary of State or President?”.

I imagine that this so called ‘equality” would be once again delayed for many decades because America was so slow to experiment a first time one can fairly safely assume that it would be much slower to experiment a second time.

It now seems almost impossible to imagine that just over three years ago that Condoleezza Rice was seriously considered in many circles as a possible candidate for the Presidency.

Following her appointment as Secretary of State at the start of George Bush’s second term she made a mini-world tour and was greeted almost ecstatically in many countries. She thrilled huge crowds in Wiesbaden by arriving in knee-high leather boots and in Paris, the French ambassador to America speculated that, “everyone was determined to fall in love” with her.

Ms Rice grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and had this to say about the white supremacists that blew up the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church there in 1963.

“I remember the bombing of that Sunday School at 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham in 1963. I did not see it happen, but I heard it happen, and I felt it happen, just a few blocks away at my father’s church. It is a sound that I will never forget, that will forever reverberate in my ears. That bomb took the lives of four young girls, including my friend and playmate, Denise McNair. The crime was calculated to suck the hope out of young lives, bury their aspirations. But those fears were not propelled forward, those terrorists failed”.

In November of 2007 Rice told a closed meeting of Arab and Israeli envoys in Annapolis that her childhood in the segregated U.S. south helped her to understand the plight of Palestinians and the fear felt by Israelis , “I know what it’s like to hear that you can’t use a certain road, or pass through a checkpoint because you are a Palestinian. I know what it is like to feel discriminated against and powerless”, and this single statement probably meant that no Israeli politician would ever again consider her to be an honest broker.

Rice’s big break came in 2000, when then Candidate George Bush selected her to coach him in foreign policy and after Bush admitted to her that he knew next to nothing about it an almost instant rapport apparently sprang up between them. They couldn’t have been more different however since Bush was a kind of reformed party guy and Rice came from an almost puritanical background.

Rice later described Bush as having “an incredibly inquisitive mind” and he went on to call her “the most powerful woman in the history of the world”.

Rice’s failures as Secretary of State could perhaps have been predicted if she were judged on her performance as National Security Adviser.

A national security adviser is meant to coordinate foreign-policy yet Rice seemed totally unable to resolve the many disputes between Donald Rumsfeld at Defense and Mr. Powell at State and even putting that aside she can be blamed for many of the mistakes in Iraq. If she failed to see that too few troops were being sent then she erred and if she knew but didn’t tell Bush then she failed.

Col. Lawrence Wilkerson, who was Colin Powell’s former chief of staff, tried to explain Rice’s failures, ‘We had a one word description for the National Security Council and that one word was “dysfunctional” and I asked myself many times: “How that could be? How could a woman as competent as Dr. Rice seemed to be, indeed, Secretary Powell had told me she was a sort of a protégé of his, head up an organization that could be so dysfunctional? I’d say simply she had her eye on the prize, and the prize was a Cabinet position and a particular Cabinet position, Secretary of state and as national security adviser, one works one’s ambitions to achieve that position”.

The ongoing genocide in Darfur was all but ignored, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has not improved and relations with North Korea, Iran, Syria, Lebanon have languished at best or soured at worst.

She refused to accept any blame for the attacks of September 11th 2001 and her campaign to promote democracy in the Middle East comes in for particular criticism. When the Palestinian elections and those in Lebanon created unwanted and unexpected results Ms Rice’s response was that they were simple aberrations although the administration later gave up on up trying to promote freer societies in Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

The threat of putting missiles in several ex-soviet countries alienated the one country that could really have brought about a change in Iran’s nuclear ambitions and Soviet policy was supposedly Rice’s field of expertise.

Condoleezza’s inability to admit to error was perhaps her greatest weakness and in almost every case it would seem that her style led to a deterioration in diplomatic relations. Rice contributed in no small way to the undoing of the Bush administration and that will be her legacy.

The MSM has been self-flagellating for a couple of days now and one can almost hear them starting to chant in unison that they failed to thoroughly check out Obama and to give the public the facts that it needs to make an informed choice in the election booth.

There is plenty of available information about Obama if one digs just a little but the media refused to either seek it or to publish it.

 Why?

Leftist journalists outnumber the rightest ones by around fifty five to one.

However they still had a job to do and they didn’t do it.

The bottom line is, does Obama have connections to communist groups?

Of course he has and they are indisputable!

For info, check -> The New Party.

Does he have connections to Jihad and the Muslim Brotherhood.

Of course he has and they are indisputable.

For info, check The Muslim Brotherhood.

Did he intentionally try to cover up his footsteps. And how!

There is even a letter in Forbes today entitled ‘A Message From The Mainstream Media’ wherein the journalist expresses remorse that he and his colleagues failed to do their job.

Most Obama supporters will now vote for him whilst having almost no idea about who is is or what he stands for.

If he’s elected he may turn out to be the most wonderful thing since sliced bread but shouldn’t people have been given the facts so that they could make an informed choice and didn’t have to gamble?

If Obama loses, it might also be in part because of the MSM’s failure.

Many people may decide at the last moment that they cannot vote for a candidate that they know so little about.

Obama carefully concealed his past and his intentions for which there is also a price to pay, but who will pay it?

November 09 2008 – Recent figures for the national news media from a study by the ‘Project for Excellence in Journalism, found that from June 9, when Clinton dropped out of the race, until Nov. 2, 66 percent of the campaign stories were about Obama compared with 53 percent for McCain; some stories featured both. The project also calculated that in that time, 57 percent of the stories were about the horse race and 13 percent were about issues.
