Your concern would be justified, but you shouldn’t be surprised.
In order to understand Obama’s attitude to Israel, one only had to look at his close friends and advisers.
Reverend Wright, who was his pastor for 20 years is on record as being hostile to Jews and Israel.
Ditto for Rashid Khalidi and Samantha Power, and Zbigniew Brzezinski who was a key foreign policy adviser to the Obama campaign in September 2009 even suggested that the U.S. might, and perhaps should, shoot down Israeli planes over Iraq on their way to Iran.
"If they fly over, you go up and confront them. They have the choice of turning back or not. No one wishes for this but it could be a Liberty in reverse".
On February 26, 2009 the Director of National Intelligence Dennis C. Blair named Charles W. Freeman as chair of the National Intelligence Council and the news of Freeman’s nomination was met with criticism from a number of pro-Israel commentators because of Freeman’s views about Israel and Arab nations and also his ties to Saudi Arabia and China.
Add to the above Obama’s cozying up to Syria and Venezuela and his lack of criticism of Iran and his lack of action toward its rulers, and we can get a pretty good idea of the Chicago-style Realpolitik, flavored with some traditional academic leftist disdain for the Jewish state that is unfolding.
The above is not to say that the U.S. will suddenly attack Israel or even cut off aid, but the Obama administration’s actions have already emboldened Israel’s sworn enemies and will continue to do so.
Take as a simple examples, Hamas’s willingness to take credit for the killing of two Israel soldiers and the wounding of three others on March 26 and the recent increase in rocket attacks.
It’s perhaps worth pointing out however that Israel isn’t the only close ally that has been ostracized since Obama’s inauguration.
Just a few short days after entering the White House Obama had a bust of Winston Churchill returned to the U.K.
Why?
He said that the British tortured his grandfather in Africa in the ’50s because he was a suspected terrorist.
France sees Obama as a weakling and after a short honeymoon the whole of Europe is disappointed in him.
In short his foreign policy is a disaster.
The U.S. economy is being destroyed, perhaps irreparably, and many people are beginning to ask if it’s happening because of ineptitude or is intentional.
Remember that Wright said, "God damn America" and that America was responsible for 9/11 !!!

A final thing to be considered is that many Palestinians believe that what appears to be a falling out between the administration and Israel is simply a show that’s being put on to convince them that America is on their side, and some Israelis believe it too.
I find it hard to believe, but I did wonder a few days ago if Biden did in fact give Israel the green light to build in Jerusalem.
We really don’t know what happens behind closed doors.
