Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s good to talk and to try and come to terms with one’s perceived enemies.
But N. Korea and Iran have just given Obama the finger, and the world is waiting to see if he felt it.
He told Iran that he’d wait until after their elections before a parley, and added that he’d then wait until the end of the year before resorting to "really tough sanctions".
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad responded yesterday by saying that it’s pursuit of nuclear capability was a done deal an added that ‘there is nothing to talk about".
N. Korea has carried out nuclear tests over the last couple of days, and Obama has indeed responded with very strong adjectives.
Bravo!
It’s clear however that every rogue state is watching, and that if Obama doesn’t act soon, that he will be perceived as a pushover.
Rogue states are not intimidated by adjectives.
Hopefully, Obama is simply giving places like N. Korea, Venezuela, Syria and Iran the chance to come clean before taking firm action against them, because the alternative will be nuclear weapons in the hands of terrorist organizations all over the world and Einstein’s quote may prove to be prophetic.
I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.
