RealClearPolitics – Obama's Foreign Policy Failures

www.realclearpolitics.com1/9/12

The political writers tell us that President Obama's foreign affairs record will be one of his strengths with voters in the 2012 campaign. The logic is pretty simple; Obama himself summed it up in 11 words at the Pentagon last

Obama's Foreign Policy Spin – Caroline Glick: In recent months, a curious argument has surfaced in favor.

A Bust of Churchill was quickly returned to the UK!

The English tortured my father in the '50s

I have never been an Obama fan as is clear on this site, but the more that I get to know about him the more I’m concerned, and his fall from grace in the polls shows that I’m not alone in this.

And his fall would be far steeper if he were not getting 93% support from black voters; and if that’s not racism then tell me what is?

The recent bribery of Senators in order to get the health bill through the Senate has a lot of people fired up and angry, but on top of that and many other things, it now appears that Obama’s policies are often based on personal grudges.

Allowing one’s actions to be affected by personal grudges could never been seen as anything but negative but when the President of the United States allows things that happened in Africa in the 50′s to affect his foreign policy then that’s nothing short of terrible!

Before Obama became president it was rumored that he held a deeply ingrained grudge against Britain because of its colonialist past, and in particular because he has stated that the British tortured his paternal grandfather, Hussein Onyango Obama during the Mau rebellion in Kenya in the 1950s.

The British may or may not have tortured him but if they did they he was a suspected terrorist.

In his book "The Audacity of Hope," Obama compares the British Empire to South Africa’s apartheid regime and also to the former Soviet Union.

Shortly after his inauguration Obama ordered a bust of Sir Winston Churchill to be returned to the UK forthwith.

If things had stopped there, then his out of place attitudes and actions would not been seen as cause for excessive alarm, but his grudge is now affecting relations with America’s closest historical ally.

The Importance Of The U.K. As An Ally

Although it was recently announced that a commitment of an additional 7,000 troops had been secured from NATO and other states to support Mr. Obama’s surge strategy in Afghanistan, France and German have remained reluctant to increase their present level of commitment.

On the other hand British Prime Minister Gordon Brown announced that Britain will be sending another 500 troops bringing the total number of British troops to approximately 10,000.

Obama has never once mentioned Britain’s ongoing support, in spite of the fact that unlike most other European countries, British soldiers participate in combat and have incurred significant casualties in so doing.

Britain soldiers are at this very moment fighting alongside U.S. Marines in southern Afghanistan and until now no one doubted the special relationship that existed between the U.S. and the U.K.

This relationship is now apparently being stretched to breaking point, and is likely to force the U.K. into the arms of a waiting European Union, and all because Obama’s grandfather was supposedly tortured in Africa sixty years ago.

Personal Grudges In the Public Arena

One can but wonder and worry about what other important relationships are being adversely affected because of personal grudges that Obama holds, grudges that should never influence a true leader’s head.
