Obama Will Err If He Tries To Prove A Nuclear Iran-Palestinian Linkage

When President Obama welcomes Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House today, Obama will most likely propose that Israel be a test of Iran’s readiness to halt its pursuit of nuclear weapons.

He won’t put it in such blunt terms of course, but will talk of the supposed linkage that exists between Israel making peace with the Palestinians, and Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

Obama will unsuccessfully try to prove, that there is a connection between an Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement, and Iran’s mullahs giving up their quest for nuclear weapons.

If Obama takes this tack, which is he expected to, he will fail miserably because there is no connection whatsoever between the two issues, and Netanyahu will correctly remain unconvinced.

Obama may then try gentle pressure, which is the most that he can use, but the facts are clear and Obama surely knows them and will respect Netanyahu’s rejection.

Did Iran set out to get nuclear weapons in order to help the Palestinians get a State? Of course not.

Has Iran even faintly suggested that it will halt its pursuit of nuclear weapons if the Palestinians get a State. Never.

Abbas controls nothing, and can hardly order a pizza.

He would lose the West Bank to Hamas in a matter of weeks if Israel were to hand it over to him, and Hamas stated as recently as yesterday that it will never recognize Israel.

So who is Israel supposed to hold peace talks with, and who is it supposed to concede land to?

Where would this new State be, and who would control it?

What is more, even under Abbas’s moderate guidance, Palestinian children are still raised on a diet of hatred in their schools, and specially made cartoons and videos that glorify dying a martyr’s death and others that show Jews drinking babies blood are common place.

There are presently fifty seven Islamic states, but Abbas is recently on record as saying that he will “never accept Israel as a Jewish state”.

Some in the U.S. would like to coerce Israel into some sort of two state deal, simply to see how Iran would respond, since there is not much appetite for either an Iran with nuclear bombs or launching an attack against it at the present time.

Netanyahu is a seasoned politician however, and knowing that Obama cannot force him, he will refuse to allow Israel to be used as a guinea pig.

He reportedly takes some ribbing over a decision to cut off a Chicago nonprofit's free water.

Obama’s choice of Rahm Emanuel as Chief of Staff is in some ways mind boggling.

Emanuel is a combative Chicago congressman supremely versed in the ways of the White House and Capitol Hill and he will have one of the biggest voices in the new administration. He is a bare-knuckled Chicago politician who is not only well known for his ability to say ‘no’ but also for his often expressed vulgarity and Obama once joked at a charity dinner that when Rahm Emanuel severed his middle finger, “it almost rendered him mute”.

In a statement announcing Emanuel’s appointment Obama said, “No one I know is better at getting things done than Rahm Emanuel”, to which Emanuel replied that he was heeding Obama’s call because “I want to do everything I can to help the new administration”.

Lots of Republican’s have a problem however with how Emanuel gets things done and he has sparked numerous conflicts with many of them causing the House Republican leader John Boehner to comment, “This is an ironic choice for a president-elect who has promised to change Washington, make politics more civil, and govern from the center”.

Emanuel, who reportedly once sent a Democratic consultant a dead fish issued a statement saying “I want to say a special word about my Republican colleagues, who serve with dignity, decency and a deep sense of patriotism,” Emanuel said in a statement. “We often disagree, but I respect their motives. Now is a time for unity”.

So ‘what’s mind boggling about this?’ you may well ask.

Well a quick look at Rahm Emanuel’s roots and history reveal things that may startle many in the middle east and probably all around the world.

Rahm was born in Chicago, Illinois and his name Rahm Emanuel is Hebrew.

The name Rahm means “high or lofty” and Emanuel means “God is with us”. He was named ‘Rahm’ after a slain Lehi combatant and ‘Emanuel’ after Rahm’s paternal uncle, Emanuel Auerbach, who was killed in a skirmish with Arabs in Jerusalem.

* Lehi -= “Fighters for the Freedom of Israel”, was a militant Jewish underground movement during the time of the British mandate.

Rahm’s father was born in Jerusalem and is a former member of the ‘Irgun’ which was a militant Zionist group active in the British Mandate of Palestine between 1931 and 1948.

Emanuel himself was a dance prodigy and was offered a scholarship with the Joffrey Ballet but settled for a liberal arts degree from Sarah Lawrence and a master’s in communications from Northwestern. He was a civilian volunteer in the Israel Defense Forces during the 1991 Persian Gulf War and he served in one of Israel’s northern bases. His wife, Amy Rule who is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, converted to Modern Orthodox Judaism shortly before her wedding and the couple are members of Anshe Sholom B’nai Israel which is a modern Orthodox congregation in Chicago.

When asked what he thought the public expected from an Obama led government Emanuel replied, “I don’t think the country is yearning for an ideological answer. If anything it’s the opposite. They want real solutions to real problems. And if we do an ideological test, we will fail. Our challenge is to work to solve the actual problems that the country is facing, not work to satisfy any constituency or ideological wing of the party.”

This site and many others recently pointed out Obama’s close connections with militant Islam as reported by NBC just a few weeks ago and just yesterday Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told the world how delighted he is that Obama triumphed in the U.S. elections.

It now remains to be seen how Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and leaders and members of the various Islamic groups will interpret Rahm Emanuel’s selection as Chief of Staff, perhaps especially as his was the first appointment to be made.

The World Will Be Very Different In 2009

The political and financial events that we are now witnessing suggest that the world will be a very different place in 2009.

The 2009 budget deficit could soon be close to $2 trillion which is 12.5 percent of GDP (gross domestic product) which is double the record 6 percent that was set in 1983. Just two weeks ago budget analysts said that measures now being implemented might push the deficit to as much as $1.5 trillion!

In spite of impending U.S. elections Obama still remains somewhat of an unknown quantity and quality. He has almost no record in the Senate to speak of but what we do know is that he is the most predictably partisan and liberal Senator. What is known of his Chicago associates is certainly not reassuring because there are simply too many ACORNs, Ayers, Khalidis, Pflegers and Wrights in the shadows.

How he got into Harvard Law School exactly

What he did as a community organizer in Chicago

Or how a person with no record of legal scholarship was about to be offered tenure at the ‘Chicago Law School’.

Viewed one by one the above may seem of little import but viewed collectively even the generalities should be enough to raise concerns within even the most avid Obama supporter.

We are now hearing of fraud amongst voter registration drives in an increasing number of States, abundant radio stations are stifling any voices critical of Obama and there are threatened lawsuits to have pro-McCain ads removed.

Younger Americans have no idea what Communism is because it was by and large not taught for decades and when some professors did teach it they were mostly shunned by their peers.

Liberals themselves are against communism but they are also against any criticism of it.

The result is that a large number of the American populace therefore sees no danger in electing someone to the Presidency who if not a ‘communist’ is definitely an extreme left wing radical.

“American” capitalism has lost all respect and America has lost most of it global influence and most likely forever.

If Obama is elected I can but wonder if America’s new friends will be people like Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez and his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev and of course Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

The phrase that just came into my head was, ‘forgive them Lord for they know not what they do”.
