1) Mr. Obama says he will give 95% of American working families a tax cut even though 40% of Americans today don’t pay income taxes! How will this seemingly impossible trick be performed? They’ll be a “refundable tax credit” which means that the federal government will take money from those who do pay taxes and give it to those who don’t.

2) Mr. Obama will kick-start the economy by raising taxes on the very businesses that are perhaps being hardest hit by the present financial crisis. The top 1% of taxpayers are the small-business owners that are also the nation’s biggest employers and they already pay some of the highest corporate tax rates in the developed world.

3) Mr. Obama says he will reregulate the economy with no ill effects whatsoever which is a line that we’ve heard in different forms for decades. How will this trick be performed? No problem, the government will simply clamp down on innovation and risk-taking using new all-encompassing rules.

4) Mr. Obama will offer the public a “voluntary government health plan” that will free us from private enterprise and eliminate all other choices, and if you don’t see how this differs from our failing Medicare program then it seems that you’re simply not understanding the ‘details’.

5) Mr. Obama will uphold America’s “moral obligation to prevent genocide” by disowning Iraq; convince Iranian leaders to abandon their nuclear ambitions; fix the problems in Afghanistan without using a ‘surge’ even though it did prove effective in Iraq. All of which raises the question, “Why didn’t someone else think of this stuff?”.

6) Mr. Obama will spend billions transforming our energy economy, provide all necessary financial assistance to former Soviet satellites, boost infrastructure, increase education spending and provide job training assistance without and all without raising the deficit!

I think his plans are fantastic and if you believe he can make them happen then you should vote for him and so should every other patriotic American.

There are signs today that the MSM (main stream media) might have figured out that it’s time to stop giving Obama a free ride.

It was wonderful to have an articulate young Senator of mixed blood to promote but now with elections on the horizon and him riding high they must make sure that he’s the ‘one’.

The articles appearing all over the media today are far from flattering. The following are from the MSM.

1) In his first race for office, seeking a state Senate seat on Chicago’s gritty South Side in 1996, Obama effectively used election rules to eliminate his Democratic competition.

As a community organizer, he had helped register thousands of voters. But when it came time to run for office, he employed Chicago rules to invalidate the voting petition signatures of three of his challengers.

The move denied each of them, including incumbent Alice Palmer, a longtime Chicago activist, a place on the ballot. It cleared the way for Obama to run unopposed on the Democratic ticket in a heavily Democrat district.

“That was Chicago politics,” said John Kass, a veteran Chicago Tribune columnist. “Knock out your opposition, challenge their petitions, destroy your enemy, right? It is how Barack Obama destroyed his enemies back in 1996 that conflicts with his message today. He may have gotten his start registering thousands of voters. But in that first race, he made sure voters had just one choice”.

2) So let’s sum up Obama’s Chicago connections.

His chief financial supporter was Tony Rezko, now on his way to federal prison. His spiritual adviser and mentor was the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, of “God damn America” fame. And the guy who got him his only administrative job and put him in charge of doling out $50 million is William Ayers, a terrorist who was a domestic Osama bin Laden in his youth.

Even apart from the details of the Obama/Ayers connection, two key points emerge:

a) Obama lied and misled the American people in his description of his relationship with Ayers as casual and arm’s-length; and

b) Obama was consciously guided by Ayers’s radical philosophy, rooted in the teachings of leftist Saul Alinksy, in his distribution of CAC grant funds.

Since Obama is asking us to let him direct education spending by the federal government and wants us to trust his veracity, these are difficulties he will have to explain in order to get the votes to win.

Now that Obama is comfortably ahead in the polls, attention will understandably shift to him. We will want to know what kind of president he would make. The fact that, within the past 10 years, he participated in a radical program of political education conceptualized by an admitted radical terrorist offers no reassurance.

Why did Obama put up with Ayers? Because he got a big job and $50 million of patronage to distribute to his friends and supporters in Chicago. Why did he hang out with Jeremiah Wright? Because he was new in town, having grown up in Hawaii and Indonesia and having been educated at Columbia and Harvard, and needed all the local introductions he could get to jump-start his political career. Why was he so close to Rezko?

Because he funded Obama’s campaigns and helped him buy a house for $300,000 less than he otherwise would have had to pay.

Not a good recommendation for a president.

3) Stanley Kurtz has finally written an article after his looks at the Annenberg files which has confirmed earlier suspicions. Terrorist Bill Ayers and Obama did work closely together on the Anneberg project (CAC), sought to circumvent local schools to apply leftist teachings and did funnel CAC money to organizations fronting for ACORN. Here’s my September 13 link here.
ACORN is an organization involved in countless voter fraud cases across the country and complicit in the recent fall of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mae for its lobbying efforts to secure home loans without credit or income checks. ACORN in turn shopped these loans in large urban areas for gain. With the fall of the two lending institutions , ACORN now has a link on its site to help “stop forclosures.”

CAC translated Mr. Ayers’s radicalism into practice. Instead of funding schools directly, it required schools to affiliate with “external partners,” which actually got the money. Proposals from groups focused on math/science achievement were turned down. Instead CAC disbursed money through various far-left community organizers, such as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (or Acorn).
Mr. Obama once conducted “leadership training” seminars with Acorn, and Acorn members also served as volunteers in Mr. Obama’s early campaigns. External partners like the South Shore African Village Collaborative and the Dual Language Exchange focused more on political consciousness, Afrocentricity and bilingualism than traditional education. CAC’s in-house evaluators comprehensively studied the effects of its grants on the test scores of Chicago public-school students. They found no evidence of educational improvement.
CAC also funded programs designed to promote “leadership” among parents. Ostensibly this was to enable parents to advocate on behalf of their children’s education. In practice, it meant funding Mr. Obama’s alma mater, the Developing Communities Project, to recruit parents to its overall political agenda. CAC records show that board member Arnold Weber was concerned that parents “organized” by community groups might be viewed by school principals “as a political threat.” Mr. Obama arranged meetings with the Collaborative to smooth out Mr. Weber’s objections.

I not particularly enamored of either candidate and whoever gets elected will lose popularity from day one and will only serve one term.

10/25/08 It seems that I was premature in thinking that the MSM would actually start publishing information that the public has a right to know and needs to know in order to make an informed choice.
