It’s interesting that Tony Blankley imagines Obama serving two terms when he has almost zero chance of doing so unless laws are changed to make it more difficult for the Republicans to win.
I am not suggesting that Obama has so little chance because of what he will or will not do but because the odds are so severely stacked against him.

Everything that I have read suggests that the economy will continue to worsen, that more jobs will be lost and that many more foreclosures will occur and no one is suggesting that something positive will be felt for at least two years.

So in two years we can expect democrats to have their numbers severely slashed and in four years we can anticipate them being punished in a general election.

Add to the above; Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq, Israel and other trouble spots; the price of oil which is bound to increase and other calamities that are just waiting for a time and place to happen and it’s almost impossible to envision Obama serving a second term.

On the day before many Americans will vote, the candidates and their vice presidential nominees are now putting their attention on just a few States and their emphasis is on swaying those who are still undecided and on trying to make sure that those who have supposedly already decided who to vote for, actually go out and do so.

The vice the vice presidential nominees are probably more important this year than at any time in America’s history and although much has been written about the dangers of voting for McCain because of his age, not much has been written about the dangers of voting for Obama because of his color.

I have many black and white friends that have been telling me for months that if Obama wins that his life will be under constant threat because of his color and it is known that he already receives the protection that is given to a President and not a candidate.

So who would the country want to take over the Presidency if something did happen to either McCain or Obama, and I stress that I wouldn’t want anything untoward to happen to either of them.

Sarah Palin is both adored and hated and there is even talk of her running for the Presidency in 2012 but at the present time there are certainly a great many people that wouldn’t want her to take over the Presidency.

Biden unsuccessfully sought the Democratic presidential nomination in 1988 and 2008, both times dropping out early in the process so it doesn’t seem the country would rally around him either.

What were Biden And Palin saying during the final countdown?

Joe Biden was in EVANSVILLE, Ind. and he said that he and Barack Obama would take a bipartisan spirit to the White House in working to revive the nation’s economy and in restoring America’s reputation in the world.

“We have to unite this country”, Biden told about 1,600 people at a downtown rally. “We need to move past the political attacks”.

And in MARIETTA, OH. Sarah Palin unleashed a new attack following the discovery of an audio file of an interview that Barack Obama gave in January 2008.

What does Obama say on the tape?

“So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted. That will also generate billions of dollars that we can invest in wind, solar, biodiesel and other alternative energy approaches”.

And last minute news from the Obama campaign is that whilst there is optimism about winning the election there are several factors that still raise cause for concern.

Although Pennsylvania, Ohio and Florida are still in the Obama column they have all been tightening in the final days and Pennsylvania Democratic Governor Ed Rendell said on Friday, “It’s time for a reality check. We’ve got our work cut out for us.”.

Pennsylvania looks solidly behind Obama but the latest NBC/Mason Dixon poll is showing a a lead of only four points which is within the margin of error and RealClearPolitics shows McCain has whittled six points off Obama’s once 14-point lead in Pennsylvania in the last three weeks.
<script type="text/javascript"

The most accurate poll in 2004, the Investor’s Business Daily poll has consistently put the national race closer than most other polls do and yesterday it had Obama up only 4.5 points nationally and with 8.7 per cent still saying they were unsure and yesterday’s Hotline Diageo tracking poll put McCain and Obama tied among independent voters when just a week ago Obama led by five points.

Much emphasis has been put on the idea that the youth vote will greatly help Obama, but will the cheering supporters actually vote?

In Florida, where 3.4 million people have already voted, an Orlando Sentinel study found only 15 per cent of them were under age 35.

The Pew Research just came out with its final pre-election poll. After allocating undecidedes nearly evenly between the two candidates, Pew is projecting Obama will finish with 52% of the vote on Tuesday to 46% for John McCain.

This represents an 8-point move towards McCain from Pew’s survey released five days ago showing Obama with a 15-point lead over McCain among likely voters, 53 to 38, as compared to today’s 7-point margin, 49 to 42.

Whereas the so called Bradley effect is not expected to have any major effect it is certain that many Republicans have refused to answer polls and have not disclosed to others who they will vote for and are keeping their heads down until tomorrow.

The following is from a talkback that I read on 10/19/08

25. There is no “Bradley Effect”
because Bradley’s race years ago is the ONLY extant example of it, it cannot be given a name. I call it “bad polling”. But there’s a very real fear out there, and it isn’t of ‘terrorist violence’ as you lamely put it. It’s a fear of telling someone you don’t know, who HAS your phone number, that you WON”T be voting for Obama. In this age, that’s enough to be worried about a future episode of someone calling you a racist publicly. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if people are not answering correctly, not because they’re racist but they fear to be CALLED racist.
Dave – USA (10/19/2008 19:51)

Whatever the result, it looks as if tomorrow night will be a long and emotional one for hundreds of millions of people, not just in America but around the world.

An article that I read yesterday sent a cold shiver down my spine …

Is Obama Secretly Sensible?

It was similar in vein to something that I wrote earlier in the month entitled “The World Will Be Very Different In 2009” but it caused me to ponder what Obama really wants and what changes he really has in mind for America.

I went to bed thinking about his about his 30 minute infomercial that aired across network and cable television last night and woke up believing that I finally understood what Obama really wants.

He doesn’t want to be just another President of the United States and he really does want to bring about enormous changes!

If elected, he would want to rein like Putin!

Very few Americans understand what life under a Putin like regime would be like but members of the “New Party” that helped Obama and others to rise through the political ranks know exactly what it means and they have worked for years to bring about its implementation.
If Obama is elected we can envisage as many changes as possible being made as quickly as possible to ensure that the United States would effectively have a one party system, and many of those changes are already being planned for as written about in The Fairness Doctrine.

Russia supposedly has Democracy and most Russians will tell you that they have one, but did the power behind the throne change when Dmitry Medvedev was elected last March?

In 1787 a Scottish professor by the name of Alexander Fraser Tyler wrote about the fall of the ‘Athenian Republic’ which occurred more than 2000 years ago.

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.”

“The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence:

From bondage to spiritual faith
From spiritual faith to great courage
From courage to liberty
From liberty to abundance
From abundance to complacency
From complacency to apathy
From apathy to dependence
From dependence back again into bondage”.

Do his words signal the end of a cycle for America?

Now the Communist Party has returned to Classic Marxism, moving from feudalism, to very tightly controlled “capitalism,” which will lead according to Marx, onto socialism, then communism.

Evidence has just emerged that Sen. Barack Obama was a member of a far left socialist party in 1996 whose aim was to help get people elected to office that would then move the Democratic Party further to the left.

The ‘New Party’ which was formed by members of the ‘Democratic Socialists for America’ and leaders of an offshoot of the ‘Community Party USA’ was an electoral alliance that worked alongside the ‘Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now’ – ACORN.

Following claims on several blog-sites that he had been a member of the ‘New Party’, Obama’s campaign responded to the allegations by saying that “he’d never been a member”.

But a site by the name of ‘New Zeal’ uncovered copies of the party’s official newspaper, ‘New Party News’ that show Obama posing with ‘New Party’ leaders who list him as a ‘New Party’ member and even include quotes from him. The blog is number 41 on their site and if you have any problems getting to the site it’s because at the time of writing they’d had 30,000 hits in just 48 hours.

This irrefutable documentation is explosive both because it shows Obama’s ties to the extreme left and also because there was once again an attempted cover up. This news comes on the heels of an announcement that Obama’s fundraising slowed in October to about a half of its September pace. Obama reported raising $36 million for his campaign during the first two weeks of October but spent more than $105 million during that same period.

The New Party’s Spring 1996 newspaper stated: “New Party members won three other primaries this Spring in Chicago: Barack Obama (State Senate), Michael Chandler (Democratic Party Committee) and Patricia Martin (Cook County Judiciary) and quoted Obama as saying “these victories prove that small ‘d’ democracy can work”.

The ‘New Party’ which was established in 1992 took advantage of what was known as “electoral fusion” which meant that candidates could run on two tickets concurrently thereby attracting voters from both parties, but after fusion was halted by the Supreme Court the ‘New Party’ became non-operational in 1998.

Many of the New Party’s founding members were ‘Democratic Socialists for America’ leaders, and members of ‘Committees of Correspondence’ which was a breakaway of the ‘Communist Party USA’ and Obama attended several DSA events and meetings, including a DSA-sponsored town hall meeting on Feb. 25, 1996, entitled “Employment and Survival in Urban America” and he sought and received an endorsement from the DSA.

Whether the MSM will jump on this or not remains to be seen but it would seem impossible to hush it up and it is almost certain that Fox and others will carry the story.

10/25/08

Having read the comments to this article I felt the need to add a general reply.

I have said it in some of my blogs, but let me repeat it here.

I am not a McCain supporter and I wish the republican party had been able to field a better choice.

My problem is not with Obama’s religion, whatever it might be, nor whether or not he is a communist.

My difficulty with Obama is that he has has purposely and very cleverly concealed vast amounts of his past and it is this concealment that lead to my first blog, The Missing Paper Trail.

If I found ‘new’ information about McCain I would publish it here immediately.

I believe a vote for Obama is dangerous because he has not been forthright about his past and when confronted with legitimate but politically dangerous questions he simply issues denials and if proof is then forthcoming he quickly “passes the buck”.

I was an active communist in my 20s and can easily see the attraction.

I now share an apartment with two people from the former Soviet Union and have learned through them and their friends what life was like in Communist regimes and it is not something that is knowable without having lived it.

In short, I believe that Obama should come clean about his past and his beliefs and reveal them to the Nation.

If the population then chooses him then it will get the government that it deserves.

As to comments that relate to conspiracy theories, I can only say that I see nothing in this article that suggest a ‘conspiracy’. A man joins a left wing group that wants to move the Democratic Party left. The group promotes promising individuals and some of them get elected to high office and do indeed move the party left. I see nothing wrong with having joined the group nor with what the group did.

As far as comments suggesting that what is contained in my article and/or on other blog sites is fantasy, the posters only needed to go to “New Zeal” to see what is there.

Are the news cuttings displayed there real?

Of course I don’t’ know 100% but it would seem almost beyond doubt that they are and hopefully the MSM will quickly confirm or deny their authenticity.

Of course there is misleading information on the web and some of it is intentional and some of it is unintentional but the same goes for every form of media and all that one can do is to try and establish the truth or falsity of what one is reading.

NBC reported just a few days ago that Mouha Husaini who is the Obama campaign’s Muslim outreach coordinator, met last month with her predecessor Mazen Asbahi who was forced to resign this summer because of his connections with radical Islam.

They met in area known as the “Wahhabi Corridor” which is in one of Washington’s Northern Virginia suburbs and what is perhaps even more disturbing was the presence of two prominent Muslim Brotherhood operatives, Mahdi Bray of the Muslim American Society (MAS) and Nihad Awad of the Council of American Islamic Relations (CAIR).

The NBC is on record as saying that others at the meeting expressed concern that the Obama campaign was reaching out to such “politically radioactive” individuals as Bray and Awad and the episode is perhaps yet another indication that the Democratic candidate hopes to win the White House aided in part by the Islamic vote and its money.

The Federal Election Commission (FEC) has known for months that the Obama campaign has received as much as $200 million in amounts of less than $200 but unlike the Clinton and McCain campaigns which have reported all donor information Obama has declined to do so. It is known however that of the of the $200 million that between $30 and $100 million is from the Middle East and Africa. What is not clear however is how much of the money is coming from non-U.S. citizens which would make the contributions not only worrying but illegal.
Additionally there are the various well known Islamists with whom Barack Obama has had long had ties and they include a former Black Panther convert named Khalid al-Mansour who is an aggressive promoter of Wahhabi influence operations. Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal who is virulently anti-Israel. A Palestinian professor by the name of Rashid Khalidi who is pro-suicide bomber. And last but by no means least the ‘Nation of Islam’ leader Louis Farrakhan, who in a speech last February called Sen. Obama “the messiah.”

The Muslim Brotherhood is an extremist organization who’s intention is to use ‘Fifth Column’ in America and their stated purpose is to “destroy Western civilization from within”.

The next two weeks are all the time that is left for the media, the courts and the Federal Election Commission to get to the bottom of Barack Obama’s ties to Jihadists because the ‘change’ that they have in mind is for global theocratic rule under Shariah, and the end of its constitutional, democratic government.

When first looked at the ‘fairness doctrine’ seem reasonable and ‘fair’.

It basically states that for every opinion that’s expressed on radio and television that equal time must be given to an opposing voice.

So what’s wrong with that?

Well before it was overturned by the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) in 1987 it never worked as it was intended to and in fact had almost the reverse effect.

Probably the easiest way to understand why the doctrine didn’t work is to read a quote by Nat Hentoff.

The Lewin Group, which is the gold standard of health policy analysis says the Obama plan would shift between 32 million and 52 million people from private coverage to the huge new entitlement program and like Medicare and the Canadian system there would be no possibility of repealing it and taxes would have to be raised to support it.

The countries entire financial industry will get a revamp but, telecom, biotech and drug makers can expect to be investigated and they’ll face new and far more burdensome rules. They’ll most likely be a windfall profits tax on oil and other industries with the danger being that the Democrats will cause the present economic crisis to last far longer than it otherwise would have.

Unions have been in decline for decades and members now represent only 7.4% of the private-sector work force, so one program that’s certain to be given the green light as early as possible will be the “card check” meaning that there will be no more secret-ballot elections. The “Employee Free Choice Act” would enable stewards to convert workplaces into union shops simply by gathering signatures from a majority of employees and anybody opposing the change would be targeted.

Taxes will rise significantly because Mr. Obama wants to raise the top income, dividend and capital-gains rates for the so called rich, thereby considerably increasing the cost of new investment in the U.S.

Perhaps even more radically he wants to eliminate the cap on income subject to payroll taxes which presently funds Medicare and Social Security thereby converting what was intended to be a pension insurance program into an explicit income redistribution program.

A tax-and-regulation scheme in the name of climate change is also a top left-wing priority and it would hand Congress trillions of dollars in new spending from the auction of carbon credits and millions of jobs and billions of dollars would then be at the mercy of a vast new global-warming bureaucracy.

The District of Columbia which is Democrat would get votes in Congress and national, election-day voter registration would be implemented which is something that has been a long-term goal of Acorn and others on the “community organizer” left. This would make it far easier to stack the voter rolls which would effectively ensure Democratic rule for many years to come.

Felons would likely get the right to vote nationwide but talk radio and other voices of political opposition would be shut down.

There would be an end to military commissions which would probably mean the trying of terrorists in civilian courts and Google and MoveOn.org would get “net neutrality” rules, effectively subjecting the Internet to intrusive regulation for the first time.

This campaign's version of Joe the Plumber appears to be an Army corporal and Ron Paul supporter named Jesse Thorsen, who has already found controversy as he's under investigation by the Army for violating protocol by …

Remember "Ponytail Guy? Slate does: "Ponytail Guy" is the term some in political circles use to refer to Denton Walthall, who asked a question in the second presidential debate in 1992. A domestic mediator who worked with children, Walthall scolded President George H.W. Bush for running a mudslinging, character-based campaign against Bill Clinton in 1992. Referring to voters as "symbolically the children of the future president," he asked how voters could expect the candidates …

The “Ponytail Guy” refers to Denton Walthall, who asked a question in the second presidential debate in 1992.

Those present were, Ross Perot, Bill Clinton and President Bush.Walthall was a domestic mediator who worked with children and he scolded President George H.W. Bush for running a mudslinging, character-based campaign against Bill Clinton in 1992.

Walthall said, “The focus of my work as a domestic mediator is meeting the needs of the children that I work with, by way of their parents, and not the wants of their parents. And I ask the three of you, how can we, as symbolically the children of the future president, expect the two of you, the three of you to meet our needs, the needs in housing and in crime and you name it. Could we cross our hearts; it sounds silly here, but could we make a commitment? You know, we’re not under oath at this point, but could you make a commitment to the citizens of the United States to meet our needs, and we have many, and not yours. Again, I have to repeat that, it’s a real need, I think, that we all have”.

Ross Perot said he’d take Walthall’s pledge, “no hedges, no ifs, ands and buts”. Governor Clinton argued with Perot about who was more authentic and less dependent on “spin doctors,” and noted that as governor, he’d “worked twelve years very hard on the real problems of real people. It depends on how you define it.President George H.W. Bush stammered his reply to Walthall, “… I mean I – I think, in general, let’s talk about these, let’s talk about these issues. let’s talk about the programs”.

Joe Wurzelbacher is a plumber that wanted to buy the company that he’s working for and when he got the chance to speak to Obama at a campaign appearance in Toledo last week he told Obama that his tax plan would prevent him from buying the business.

In the course of the following exchange Obama made the revelatory comment that he believed that “spreading the wealth around” would help everyone. And there it was: the crucial distinction between the Democrats who believe that the wealth created by individuals should be compulsorily redistributed, even if that means limiting the possibilities of creating more of it, and the Republicans who feel that it would be better left in the hands of the small business people who could then use it to expand their businesses and provide more employment.

It is possible that if that distinction were to permeate the consciousness of the U.S. electorate with real force and clarity, that McCain would win the election.

McCain brought it up on several occasions during last night’s debate and initiated the exchange by saying, “Joe wants to buy the business that he has been in for all of these years, worked 10, 12 hours a day. You were going to put him in a higher tax bracket which was going to increase his taxes, which was going to cause him not to be able to employ people, when Joe was trying to realize the American dream”, after which he looked across at Obama.

Obama was clearly flustered which is extremely rare for him and he answered, “Not only do 98 percent of small businesses make less than $250,000, but I also want to give them additional tax breaks, because they are the drivers of the economy. They produce the most jobs”.

McCain then looked directly into the television camera and said, “Joe, I want to tell you, I’ll not only help you buy that business that you worked your whole life for and I’ll keep your taxes low and I’ll provide available and affordable health care for you and your employees. And I will not stand for a tax increase on small business income”.

After the debate Wurzelbacher said that Obama’s reaction left him feeling uneasy.”I didn’t think much of it the first time I heard it” and added that he still thinks Obama’s plan would keep him from buying the business.

Love her or hate her, if you haven’t heard her speak live to a crowd then you can’t come close to understanding Sara Palin’s crowd appeal. She’s not just better than McCane and Biden but she electrifies an audience even more than Obama does and she generates enormous enthusiasm at her events.

Kathy Seals, who attended the Richmond event, said she “admired Ms. Palin for unabashedly speaking the truth” and Ray Gilson of Corapeake, N.C., who attended the Virginia Beach rally said, “She’s intelligent, she’s adorable and she has the audacity to speak her mind and I’ve never loved a politician like I love her. I want her to be president someday!”.

A large part of Palin’s appeal is that she loves America and when she says she loves the national anthem, the Navy bases and small towns and the smell of cut grass, she speaks from the heart and you can feel it.

And taking a dig at Obama she’ll often add, “and I don’t care what anyone else says about small-town U.S.A. You guys, you just get it”. After she told more than 10,000 people at the ‘Richmond International Raceway’ that, “John McCain is always, always proud to be an American’ she went on to lead the crowd in a chant of “U.S.A.! U.S.A.! U.S.A.! U.S.A.! U.S.A.”!

Palin’s speeches don’t suggest that the way to avoid future mistakes is by looking at previous ones and she glosses over uncomfortable details and instead of talking about Bush and the White House she says things such as, “America, doggone it, unfortunately we’re deep in debt and Barack Obama would put us even deeper in debt. We’ve got to reverse this. America, we cannot afford another big spender in the White House”.
Whether or not Palin’s partisan zeal will turn off some independent voters in closely contested states like New Hampshire and Pennsylvania is debatable but the Democratic polling in both states shows Ms. Palin with high negative ratings amongst independents.

Although she doesn’t go into a lot of policy detail she can raise excitement in an instant. When asked in Virginia Beach if McCain’s really has the ability to lead the country out of its present financial crisis she replied, “He’s got the guts to confront the $10 trillion debt that the federal government has run up and we will balance the budget by the end of our term”.

Regardless of whether she goes into specifics or not the audiences affection for her is palpable and when she talks of her own personal trials and tribulations the audience grows quiet. She describes how frightened she was when she first learned that their baby would have special needs and talks with emotion of how they finally decided to have the child after talking, praying and reflecting.

“There are the world’s standards of perfection, and that’s what you see in some magazines, and then there are God’s standards and God’s standards are the final measure and every child is beautiful before God”.

The personal narrative is a natural segue into a comment on Obama’s view of abortion, “It’s not negative and not mean-spirited in a campaign to check out our opponent’s record” and adds with a smile, “I’ll let you judge for yourself”.

When Bush was on the campaign trail he was a plain-spoken and energetic campaigner who solidified his appeal in the 2000 and 2004 presidential campaigns by using a ‘with-us-or-against-us message’ and Palin’s message is similarly directed at “good, hard-working, patriotic Americans”.

There are several things that McCain can still do to try and turn things around.

Some are riskier than others, but all are perhaps worth trying if he foresees a crushing defeat.

He could for example commit to only serving one term, and claim that by so doing that he would be free from much of the political pressure that somebody hoping for a second term would be subject to. He could then truthfully say that this would allow him to make a lot of tough decisions that Obama would be unable to make.

Another ploy would be to stop wasting time and money in Bush States that have now slipped so completely out of his grasp, that there is no real likelihood of his ever winning them now.

Obama is extremely well established in Iowa because he has been organizing there since 2007 and the State helped win him the nomination, but McCain and Palin are still campaigning there.

If I were in his shoes, and I’m glad I’m not, because whoever wins the next election will be in for a horrible drubbing and his life will get more miserable from day one, I’d be concentrating on the battleground States that I’d have a very good chance of still holding onto.

Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Virginia, North Carolina, Nevada, Colorado and Florida.

On paper he’d been short of enough votes to win but he’d be able to keep his fingers crossed and hope that the polls were more inaccurate than they seemed. Polls have surprised a lot of candidates everywhere, in both a good and bad way.

He might of course, also be able to bring in Pennsylvania from the 2004 Kerry map.

If things really look desperate in the days before the elections he could do something completely unprecedented, he could publicly and without mixing his words, condemn the of the presidency of George W. Bush.
Karl Rove and others such as Steve Schmidt would probably be distraught and be strongly against it but McCain is highly unlikely to ever run for the Presidency again so what would he have to lose.

Making such a maverick move would also show the voters that he really understood why Bush’s ratings are so low and many people might be so admiring of such behavior that they’d change their minds at the last moment.

A great many Republicans that now say that they will vote Democrat might not actually do so.

When they ponder the night before the election or even in the voting booth that to vote for Obama would mean higher taxes; a larger government; more entitlements; more U.N. involvement; less nuclear energy; less coal and a greater dependency or Iran and Venezuela; more left leaning Supreme Court judges; more open borders; more oppression-studies and a helluva lot more reparations that might just think twice!
