The West Must Stop Iran From Obtaining Nuclear Weapons

The Terrorist Threat

The West in general and Obama in particular, appear to have given up on preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons, and if they have, then the resulting arms race will endanger not just the middle east but the whole world.

The above is not just my opinion however, but is the opinion of hardened diplomats who served in Tehran under both the Shah and the ayatollahs, and others who were former senior Iranian military officers, and defense and intelligence officials.

They expressed their elevated concerns at a conference in a gorgeous Italian villa that overlooks Lake Como, which was once the summer residence of Konrad Adenauer, the late German chancellor, and it was in this very villa that Adenauer developed his vision of a united Europe, and he is now probably turning in his grave.

The wide consensus of all those that participated in the discussions is that unless Iran can somehow be prevailed upon to rein in its nuclear ambitions, that the world is heading towards a new era of literally earth-shattering conflict.

The Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, continues to publicly defend Iran’s right to maintain its pursuit of nuclear technology, and just last week he launched yet another attack on the West, during Iran’s presidential inauguration ceremony, in which he described the election as a “vote for the fight against arrogance and brave resistance to the international domination-seekers”.

Members of the conference at Lake Como almost unanimously noted that much of the blame for the failure to coax Tehran to the negotiating table, lies with president Obama and his unwillingness to take a hard line with the ayatollahs.

The attendees noted that what Obama and his Iran team fail to appreciate is that its policy of appeasement is seen by the mullahs as weakness.

Where are Kennedy and Reagan?

A major point that was repeated several times at the conference was that, if Obama described the Iran’s regime recently killing and torturing of protesters, as a "lively debate", then why should Iran’s leaders be unduly troubled by threats of possible retaliation over their nuclear program.

The most likely outcome, according to members of the conference will be that middle east states like Saudi Arabia, Syria and Egypt, will now seek to acquire their own nuclear arsenals.

The Saudis helped to finance Pakistan’s nuclear weapons program, and the Syrians and Egyptians are known to have their own advanced research projects.

The biggest danger of course is that rogue countries such as Iran will not use their own weapons of mass destruction, but will forward them to one of the many terrorist organizations that would act as a proxy.

Israel will most likely strike and delay Iran’s nuclear aspirations, and the result will be chaos, whereas if the west, which is still led by America, simply denied oil companies the right to refine Iran’s oil, then the problem could be resolved in several days, or weeks.

Obama Will Err If He Tries To Prove A Nuclear Iran-Palestinian Linkage When President Obama welcomes Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House today, Obama will most likely propose that Israel be a test of Iran’s readiness to halt its pursuit of nuclear weapons. If "Yes", Then It Would Explain His Attitude Towards Iran.   If Elbaradei is a pious Muslim who’s loyalty is to Islam and the dictates and mandates of the Koran, then it would perhaps explain the proliferation of nuclear weaponry and technology among Islamic states, and state sponsors of terror under his tenure as [...]...
